Terms
Last updated 6 October 2026
These are the terms for using Zinx Chat. By creating an account or a workspace you agree to them. They are short on purpose, and they describe what the product actually does.
What the service is
Zinx Chat lets you put an AI assistant on your website that answers from content you supply. You give it sources; it retrieves passages from them and uses a language model to write an answer.
You need to be 18 or over and able to agree to these terms. If you sign up for a business, you are agreeing on its behalf.
What the assistant says
Answers are generated by AI. They can be wrong, and they can be wrong confidently. The product is built to reduce that — it answers from your sources, declines when nothing matches well enough, and shows which source it used — but none of that makes an answer a guarantee.
You are responsible for what your assistant tells your visitors. That means:
- Telling visitors they are talking to an AI, and never presenting it as a human.
- Giving visitors a privacy notice that covers the chat — see our Privacy page for what we store.
- Not relying on it for medical, legal, financial or safety advice, or for decisions about people such as hiring, credit or housing.
Your content
What you upload stays yours, and so do the answers your assistant gives. You give us permission to store your content, index it, and send relevant parts to our AI provider so the assistant can answer — nothing else. We do not use it to train AI models.
You confirm you have the right to use what you upload and that it does not include personal data you were not given for this purpose.
Acceptable use
Do not use Zinx Chat to:
- Break the law, or help somebody else break it.
- Impersonate a person or organisation, or harass, deceive or defraud anyone.
- Generate content that breaks the usage policies of our AI provider, such as sexual content involving minors, malware, or targeted harassment.
- Point the crawler at content you have no right to read, or use it to scrape another site.
- Get around the limits — rate limits, spend caps, origin allowlists — or resell the service without our agreement.
We may suspend a workspace that does these things. Where it is practical to warn first, we will, and we will tell you why.
Crawling
If you point the crawler at a site, you are confirming you are allowed to. It stays on the site you name, honours that site’s robots.txt including any crawl delay, and stops at your plan’s page limit. Those limits protect the site being read; they do not give you permission to read it.
Plans and payment
Free trial. Every new workspace gets 25 free replies to try the product. No card is needed, and it does not turn into a paid plan by itself.
Plans. Starter, Pro and Business are monthly subscriptions, per workspace. Each includes a number of replies per month and the features listed on the Billing page. Prices are shown in US dollars on the Billing page and at checkout, before you pay.
Replies. One reply is one answer from the assistant. Some things use a different amount, always shown on the Billing page and recorded in your usage history:
- Answers from the advanced model use more than one reply.
- Answers using your own provider key (Pro and Business) use less than one reply, and the model cost is billed to you by that provider.
- Training on new content uses a small amount, based on how much text it is.
- Your Playground and widget preview have their own 50 free test replies a month, separate from your plan.
Reply packs. Extra replies, bought once, for a workspace on a paid plan. Pack replies are used after the month’s included replies run out, do not expire, and can be used for as long as the workspace has a paid plan.
Renewal. A plan renews automatically every month until you cancel. Included replies reset at each renewal; unused ones do not carry over.
Payment and tax. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record: it charges your card, issues your invoices, and calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT at checkout. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo’s terms.
Failed payments. If a renewal fails, the assistant keeps answering for 7 days while you update your card. After that it pauses until the payment goes through. Nothing is deleted.
Price changes. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before a price change applies to your subscription, and it takes effect from your next renewal.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time from Billing → Manage billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. You can change plans from the same place.
A workspace with a subscription that will renew cannot be deleted until the subscription is cancelled, so you are never charged for a workspace that no longer exists.
Refunds.
- Your first subscription payment is refundable in full if you ask within 14 days of paying.
- A reply pack is refundable within 14 days if none of its replies have been used.
- If we charged you by mistake, or the service was unavailable for a significant part of a period you paid for, we will refund it.
- Otherwise, payments are not refundable, including for part of a month after you cancel.
To ask for a refund, write to hello@zinx.app from the email on your account. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Dodo Payments. None of this limits any right to a refund you have under the law where you live.
Availability
We work to keep the service running, but there is no uptime guarantee. It depends on providers we do not control — our AI provider, hosting and payments — and when one is unavailable, your assistant says so rather than inventing an answer.
Each plan has a daily reply limit to protect against runaway costs and abuse. It is shown on the Billing page.
Ending it
You can delete a workspace or your whole account from Settings at any time, once any renewing subscription is cancelled. The Privacy page says exactly what that removes.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks the acceptable-use rules, or that does not pay. If we close an account for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of the current period.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost business, or the consequences of an answer the assistant gave — and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we will say what changed. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new version.
